Depending on the program chosen, the list below gives you a description of the prerequisites:
Category 1 Prerequisites
For the following programs: Professional Cooking, Pastry Making, Accounting, Secretarial Studies, Dental Assistance and Pharmacy Technical Assistance*
A Secondary School Diploma
Or
Be at least 16 years of age as of September 30th and have earned Secondary IV credits in language of instruction, second language and mathematics
Or
Have been granted recognition of equivalent learning
Or
Be at least 18 years of age and have successfully completed the General Development Test (GDT) and the program’s specific prerequisites or the Secondary School Equivalency Test (SSET)
* Take note that spoken French is a requirement for the Pharmacy Technical Assistance program
Category 2 Prerequisites
For the following programs: Retail Butchery, Bread Making, Food and Beverage Services, Institutional and Home Care Assistance
A Secondary School Diploma
Or
Be at least 16 years of age as of September 30th and have earned Secondary III credits in language of instruction, second language and mathematics
Or
Have been granted recognition of equivalent learning
Or
Be at least 18 years of age and have successfully completed the General Development Test (GDT) and the program’s specific prerequisites or the Secondary School Equivalency Test (SSET)
Category 3 Prerequisites
For Market Fresh Cuisine Attestation of Vocational Studies (AVS)
A Diploma of Vocational Studies in Professional Cooking
Or
Recognition of acquired competencies (RAC) in the field**
For Medical Secretarial Studies Attestation of Vocational Studies (AVS)
A Diploma of Vocational Studies in Secretarial Studies
Or
Recognition of acquired competencies (RAC) in the field**

Category 4 Prerequisites
For Health, Assistance and Nursing
A Secondary School Diploma
